Short History of the Breed

The Australian Labradoodle is well respected for its superior temperament as a therapy and service dog, and this special blending of breeds was founded on this key characteristic, in Australia. Over 30 years ago a guide dog program aimed to produce an allergy and family friendly service dog on a consistent basis. It was premised that crossing only the Labrador and Poodle breeds was limiting, and through careful selection successfully infused a few other breeds; Irish Water Spaniel, Curly Coated Retriever, English Cocker Spaniel, and American Cocker Spaniel. Angela Cunningham of Tegan Park (Australia) and Beverly Manors of Rutland Manor (Australia) are the co-founders of the 'Australian Labradoodle'. Together they developed a wonderful cross-breed that has grown in popularity and is loved and respected around the world. Who We Are and Our Puppy Raising Methods

Thru the years Maria and her therapy dogs have volunteered in the community, and this interest along with husband Mike's need for a hypoallergenic, non-shedding dog led us to Cookie, our first Australian Labradoodle and the foundation for our breeding program. Our dogs live in our home or a permanent guardian home (we are NOT a kennel) and from birth to 'Adoption Day' each puppy is treasured and raised as part of our family before joining yours. With each litter we utilize early neurological stimulation (ENS) and 'Puppy Culture' methods to give them the best possible start in life. Each puppy is nurtured, exposed to age-appropriate sights, sounds, and smells, socialized with people outside of our family, and started on crate training to ensure they will acclimate easily into your family. Mike is retired from the U.S. Airforce and because we understand and value the sacrifices made by military families, we offer a 10% discount as a small token of appreciation for all members of our U.S. military.

The Australian Labradoodle offers advantages for those seeking a family addition and value a health and temperament driven breeder, and for those with special needs. The Australian Labradoodle is known for its good health and temperament, trainability, allergy friendliness, and no-to-low shedding coats!

We are a proud member of the WALA (Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Association) and the ALAA (Australian Labradoodle Association of America). We go 'above and beyond' health testing requirements and are recognized by two prominent breed clubs, as an 8-Star Breeder by WALA and a Gold Paw Breeder by ALAA, and as Breeder 'Excellent' by 'Good Dog'. We endeavor to stay true to the vision of the founders of this amazing multigenerational health-tested cross, stringent breeding standards, and are dedicated to finding the most loving home for each puppy.
